April 23, 2007 Gikomba traders grow with Ubuntu Group micro-credit Ubuntu Group, working in partnership with Hekima Self-Help Group (HSHG), expanded its micro-credit program to cover new clients from Gikomba, an urban market in Nairobi, Kenya. With an objective of putting poverty out of business, the micro-credit package has been designed to focus solely on poor women in the marketplace. The trader will therefore have access to small credit to build income-generating activities that will eventually benefit their families.
