Ubuntu Group reaches out to post-election violence displaced victims

Following the crisis occasioned by the 2007 General Elections in Kenya, the Investment Group visited Jamhuri Park, a camp for internally displaced victims in Nairobi.

Over four hundred families were temporarily sheltered at the park, in what had been Kenya’s most violent year since gaining Independence. Over 1,000 people lost their lives and a further 3,000 were displaced from their homes all over the country.

Above and beyond the donation of clothes and food, the Group was most privileged to be able to share its time and support with the people at this time. Ubuntu Group consolidated its financial assistance toward the humanitarian situation through the “Tumaini na Undugu Response championed by Equity Bank, amongst other partners.
