Ubuntu Group runs in Stanchart Charity Marathon, 2009
Ubuntu Group’s participation emphasizes the company’s commitment to improve the standard of living of communities within which it operates. The company participated in the annual event for the fourth consecutive year.

The Standard Chartered Nairobi International  Marathon, which has become the country’s signature annual sports event, brought together runners and supporters from all over the country as well as foreign participants to Nairobi, the beautiful capital city of Kenya and home of the greatest distance runners in the world.

This year, the international charity marathon, whose proceeds benefit the people with eyesight complications, had a theme of “Run and be a hero in someone’s eye!” Between 2003 and 2008, proceeds from the charity marathon have sponsored over 2500 cataract operations at Kikuyu Eye Hospital, the largest eye hospital in the region.
